FAQs

Product for Safety and Security

Are there some cases where you can’t use [Falling Furniture Prevention Board]?
  • It can’t be used when there’s no wall behind a piece of furniture.
  • It can’t be used with furniture that has legs.
  • If using with two-story furniture, please ensure the top and bottom parts are connected to each other sufficiently.
  • If not connected, upper furniture can fall down.
  • It can’t be used on flooring that is markedly uneven or that has cushioning.

  • Can [Falling Furniture Prevention Board] also be used on carpet flooring?

This product is effective when the furniture is leaned back against a wall, so if the flooring has cushioning this effect will lessen.
We recommend laying down a large board or plank and placing Falling Furniture Prevention Board and the furniture on that.

Should [Falling Furniture Prevention Board] be used with metal falling-prevention support bars?

For increasing stability even more, we recommend you use it with a falling-prevention mechanism that props furniture against the ceiling. (We don’t sell falling-prevention support bars.)

If I cut [Falling Furniture Prevention Board] into smaller pieces and lay it down just in the corners of the furniture, will it still be effective?

This will considerably decrease its effectiveness, so please lay it down the whole of the front section of the furniture.

During an earthquake, because the weight will only be partially supported, the furniture’s balance will become unstable, decreasing the product’s effectiveness.

After cutting [Glass Shatterproofing Sheet], how do you peel off the film if you can’t find the peel starting point?

You can peel it off by sticking pieces of cellophane tape onto both the sheet and the film and pulling them away from each other.

How do you make the soapy water used when sticking on [Glass Shatterproofing Sheet]?

The soapy water can be made by pouring water into a general-use sprayer, adding 2 to 3 drops of kitchen-use (neutral) detergent, and mixing well.
This soapy water fulfils a lubricating role for ventilation, wrinkle prevention, and preventing damage to the sheet, and using a lot of soapy water is the trick to sticking it on better.

Is it more effective to stick [Glass Shatterproofing Sheet] on the inner-side or outer-side of the glass surfaces of window glass or glass cupboards?

It’s effective to stick it on the inside for window glass and on the outside for glass cupboards. This is so, if the glass should shatter, glass shards do not scatter within the room.

    Caution
If the surface is frosted glass or uneven it won’t stick. Also, in order to stick it on as best as possible, please use a lot of soapy water.
How do you keep [Glass Shatterproofing Sheet]in good shape?

If there’s dirt on the sheet’s surface, please wipe it off using a soft cloth with neutral detergent. Please avoid using a dry cloth or polishing powder as it will damage the sheet. Also, please avoid using thinner or benzine.

Can you stick [Glass Shatterproofing Sheet] to mirrors?

You can, but if air bubbles or wrinkles occur, its appearance won’t look as good.

How do you peel off [Glass Shatterproofing Sheet]?

First please prepare a cutter that can cut well. It’s harder to peel off while the sheet is a large size, so make some vertical cuts, then cut it into rectangles of around 5 to 10cm in width (be careful not to cut the glass surface).
After that, cover it with wet newspaper and wait a while. Once the glue has become easier to peel off, start peeling the sheet off slowly starting from the corners.
It will be easier to peel off if you simultaneously spray soapy water with a sprayer between the sheet and the glass. If there’s glue remaining after you peel it off, please use a product for removing glue stains.

[Emergency-Use, Long-Lasting Tape (Glowing Type)] won’t lighten up in a dark place. Is it defective?

By shining ultraviolet light onto the Emergency-Use Glowing Tape (Fluorescent), it will radiate light in the dark. Without the ultraviolet light, it won’t be able to radiate light. Please use it where it can be exposed to fluorescent light or sunlight (indoors).
